God Bless and be inspired!

Please give me a shout via my handy contact form if you found this page inspiring. I went through a lot of work and am proud of how this page came together. It is always nice to see when someone gives you a "atta boy" for your efforts.

This page will inspire you with practical scripture from the Lord and a explanation. I include one verse for every day of the year. Thanks to Robert H. Schuller and a book called "Tough Minded Faith for Tender Hearted People".

Positioning yourself in the marketplace
“Where no oxen are, the trough is clean. But much increase comes by the strength of an ox. “
PROVERBS 14:4

Where there is no market , the store is empty; but much increase comes by the strength of providing the goods that people need. For example, when the sixties gave way to the seventies Americans suddenly lost interest in huge automobiles. However, Detroit ignored the pressures of the marketplace and continued to manufacture big cars. By doing so, they plunged the automotive industry into a recession of gigantic proportions. Japan captured Detroit’s position. Success often depends on selling something to someone. Selling is convincing people that you have the answer to the problem and the help they need. Education sells knowledge. Universities sell training or professional work. Hospitals sell health care. If there is a need that no one else is meeting, then come up with a program to meet those needs. Position yourself in the marketplace of ideas to provide services that solve problems no one else is really tackling. Faith in action is positioning yourself in the marketplace of human effort. I will solve someone’s problem in the name of God.

Evolving upward
“Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. “
REVELATION 2:10

You have a dream, but the solid base you need for a launching pad is not yet established. What do you do? You have to let the dream evolve. The first level is the nesting level. Here you ask the basic question: “ who needs it? “ The second level is the testing level. Here you ask three basic questions: will it help people are hurting? Will it be a great thing for God and for the human family? Is anybody else doing the job? If so, can I do it better and cheaper. The third level it is the investing level. This is the level where you invest your resources. Put your money where your mouth is. The fourth level is divesting yourself of negative thinking. Eliminate the fear of failure. The fifth level is arresting . You encounter tough times. God always gives you a great new test before he gives you the great success! The sixth level it is the cresting level. The dream envolves upward until that moment when the dream is complete!

Pacing your progress
To everything there is a season. A time for every purpose under heaven. A time to plant. And a time to pluck what is planted. A time to break down. And it time to build up.
ESSLESIASTES 3:1

Doesn’t the walk of faith appear to be inficted with contradictions or paradoxes? Doesn’t it seem like a juggling act in a possibility thinking game ? Then remember this: faith is an art—not a science. Faith advances for a season, then retreats the next. You are ambitious for a season, then relaxed, aggressive, then passive, giving, then taking. Faith is pacing the progress. The challenges come in knowing; when to push forward, when to hold back; when to dig in to and; when to yield; when to hold on, when to let go; when to plan alone, when to form a partnership. Make the right move in the right away at the right time. So keep trust in God to give you His sense of timing. Pace yourself. Now you wait. Now you move. Now if you race! Now you rest. Now you leap! Now you walk slowly. Possibilities thinkers don’t quit. They change their pace to win the race.

Triple checking your position
“Examine me O Lord and prove me. Try my mind and my heart. “
PSALM 26:2

Late in the Vietnam conflict time I found myself in Tachikawa, Japan, where the central command headquarters for the entire medical evacuation of the sick and known was situated. I was given a personal briefing by the general who was in charge. It was his job to establish systems and procedures to care for the patients from the time they fell wounded on the front line to their final hospitalization in America. On our tour he said we have only witnessed eleven fatalities in transit. Astonished, I asked, “ How do you do it? “ He said, “ we check, double check, and we recheck! Faith is triple checking the position. Many people succeed or fail here. You ordered it done? You expect a delivery? Somebody promised? Check, double check, recheck!

Narrowing the path
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to it
MATTHEW 7:13-14

The walk of faith is not the broad path. The truth is most people choose the wide, safe road which leads to despair, discouragement, and ultimate lack of self fulfillment. The narrow path is the walk of faith. It leads to excitement, adventure, and discovery, that adds up to life! The exciting path is the narrow road that winds through the mountains. It’s the narrow path through the garden that leads to secluded little spots. Philosophy and faith get tough and challenging when you try to apply them to the daily acts of human existence. Dare to be specific today and take a very narrow definition in a dangerous request and prayer will become exciting. What specific need do you have today? Dare to pray specifically! God, help me today to narrow my path, to lead the more exciting life of faith. Thank you Lord. Amen

Maintaining equilibrium
“Everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. “
CORINTIANS 9:25

In the Christian walk of faith it is so easy to lose ones sense of balance. It’s easy to become religious extremists of either the right or the left. We’ve all seen those who believe solely in prayer and reject all forms of scientific and medical aid on the assumption that seeking human help would be a lack of faith. The walk of faith is a narrow walk. It’s a delicate task of remaining equilibristic. I believe in prayer for divine guidance. But I’d test the idea. How? I use the intelligence God has given me. I check with positive thinking experts on the subject. I make sure it does not violate the moral and spiritual principles taught in the holy Bible. And finally I ask the question, “ What would Jesus do? “ Today help me to realign the scales so that I shall have the poise of a well balanced artist on the walk of faith.

Comparing the values
“How much better it is to get wisdom and gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. “
PROVERBS 16:16

On this walk of faith, how do you keep your balance? How do you maintain equilibrium? You do so by carefully comparing competing values before you make unconditional commitments. As a possibility thinker, you will spot so many opportunities and will be confronted with innumerable demands on your time, energy, thoughts, and money! Here’s a word of caution: you will be tempted more often by the good than by the bad. The greater temptation will be, to neglect the higher good for the lower good, to choose mediocrity rather than the excellent, to live on the “ pretty good “level instead of the “super” level, and to take the easy goal instead of the impossible challenge. The spiritual and the carnal compete for control. The ideal and that practical clash for allegiance. The call to comfort, luxury, and ease competes with a call to sacrifice and commitment. Decision making is easy if there are contradictions in your value system.
