God Bless and be inspired!

Please give me a shout via my handy contact form if you found this page inspiring. I went through a lot of work and am proud of how this page came together. It is always nice to see when someone gives you a "atta boy" for your efforts.

This page will inspire you with practical scripture from the Lord and a explanation. I include one verse for every day of the year. Thanks to Robert H. Schuller and a book called "Tough Minded Faith for Tender Hearted People".

Bailing out a friend
“But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24

My own father advised me, rightly or wrongly, “Loan money to and acquaintance but never to a dear friend. If he is a friend give him money!” For Christ “bailing out a friend” meant dying for you and me on the cross. Faith is “bailing out a friend’ It is defending your friends behind their backs when they are being criticized, only to find out later they were probably guilty! Yes, it is a risky. It takes faith to bail out a friend. However if you make a mistake, you’re making it on the side of faith! If you sin, let it be on the side of love. If you err let it be on the side of mercy. And that’s always the wisest decision for one who is trying to live the life of Christ today!

Soliciting help for a great cause
“…comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak be patient with all.”
Thessalonians 5:14

Don’t you marvel at the person who has the courage to go out and ring doorbells, sell tickets to a charity, or ask for volunteers? Welcome every challenge that appears to be something impossible for you to perform. God calls us to be responsive to His calling. It’s God’s responsibility to enable us to be effective. The next time the church or community organization asks for volunteers, speak up! Give it a try. Believe that you can be effective. You can be somebody’s answer to prayer. You can be the saving influence to turning a life around! Simply be willing to solicit in the name of Christ and lead some soul to the faith that has saved you.

Priming the pump
“whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But…will become in him a fountain of water springing into everlasting life.”
JOHN 4:14

You prime the pump when you spend your last ounce of energy on the hope that your energy will be renewed. Invest seed money. Call it venture capital. Because someone, somewhere helped you get started, pray that your success will help someone else down the road of faith. With that kind of faith, and that kind of attitude, you’ll never run dry!

Filling someone else’s cup
“ For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these….you did it to Me.”
MATTHEW 25:35,40

What will keep you going and growing? Focus on lost souls rather than selfish comfort. When a farmer sees hungry people devouring with relish the fruit of his labour, he knows that unless he gets back to work to produce a new crop, the next year there will be hungry people and starving children. That is his motivation for continued productivity! Faith is filling someone else’s cup. Self-serving and self seeking is ultimately self-defeating. That’s a fundamental principle of life. The walk of faith leaves you no choice but to focus on filling someone else’s cup. In the process you are spared from the haunting hollowness of life that only God can satisfy.

Casting you bread upon the waters
“Cast you bread upon the water,/For you will find it after many days.”
ECCELESIASTES 11:1-2

It’s impossible to give anything away. It always comes back to you. Give love and love will return. Be cold and frigid and people will give you a chilly reception. Naturally it takes courage to make the first move. But, after all, what are your choices? Possibility thinkers are not controlled by fear, but by faith.

Lighting one candle
“You are the light of the world…let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
MATTHEW 5:14, 16

Better to light a candle, than curse the darkness” was a favorite quotation of Eleanor Roosevelt’s. You can’t save the whole starving world from famine, but you can save one child’s life by feeding him. You can choose today to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. You can choose to be a dreamer, rather than a despairer. Dreamers of great dreams create the real uplifting movements in society and in the world. I will be Your light in my home, at work and in Your world. Keep shining through me. Amen

Applauding the positive projects
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,/ When it is in the power of your hand to do so.”
PROVERBS 3:27

Have you wondered what good you can do with your life? So you sometimes feel that you really aren’t doing anything significant? You become as great as the projects you support. Applaud positive people who try to accomplish positive projects. Encourage them. Speak will of them. Defend them behind their backs. They need all the help they can get. Vote for the brave ones! Share in their victories. You can be sure you’ll never enjoy the enthusiasm that comes through success until you connect yourself with dynamic causes. When you come to the end of your life, you’ll know you participated as a partner in a good work. You’ll be as big as the person or cause you support!

Adjusting you attitude toward the community
“Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”
HEBREWS 13:2

You are ready now to see how this mountain-moving faith inspires you to “entertain strangers.” Who might be angels in disguise. How do you criticize those who fail to perform up to your expectations of them? Praise and thank them for all the good they have already done. Then ask questions. Formulate respectful questions that will reveal why they have done what they have done, and why they have failed to do what you had expected them to do. Give them the opportunity to explain their position without losing their self-esteem. “I’m sure you had a good reason. Would you mind explaining it to me?” You will probably discover that in the pursuit of their assignment they have uncovered problems or opportunities that you are unaware of. As mates do you need to adjust your attitude toward your husband or wife? They are angels that God has sent your way. Faith believes you are entertaining angels oftentimes posing as strangers.

Winning friends and influencing people
“A friend loves at all times.”
PROVERBS 17:17

The walk of faith is transforming you. You are winning friends and influencing people! You’re succeeding in your social life because Christ has turned you into a person who cares about others. We succeed when we find a hurt and heal it. Where can hurting people go to find a listening ear? Is this one of the reasons why local bars are so popular? Is the bartender the only one who has a listening ear? You begin the process of becoming a creative communicator with a look- your eyes meet their eyes; a word- you respond with a kind hello; a touch- your hand touches their shoulder. You are on your way. Faith is winning friends and influencing people-“I will be an effective channel for Jesus Christ.” God bless you.

Socializing with a purpose.
“Here am I! Send me.”
ISAIAH 6:8

It takes a lot of courage for many people to socialize in circles that they consider above their own class. Lord, show me the person to whom You want to speak through my life today. Begin each day with that prayer. Move through society with a mission. Socialize- with a high and holy purpose. Every day there is some person to whom God wants to speak through your life. Remember it’s God’s responsibility to do the talking; you simply have to be available. He may want you to silently respond with a kind look, or to listen with a caring ear. He only needs an honest love that will emit and transmit from your soul! Live with this prayer.
