This page will inspire you with practical scripture from the Lord and a explanation. I include one verse for every day of the year. Thanks to Robert H. Schuller and a book called "Tough Minded Faith for Tender Hearted People".

Separating yourself from negative pressures
"What part has a believer with an unbeliever? Come out from among them and be separate."
CORINTHIANS 6:15,17

There is such a thing as divine divorce. By that I mean, sometimes it is necessary to sever relationships that are mutually self-destructive . In the culture of Christís time and locality a husband and wife promised to hold to each other until death separated them. In the Christian church through the centuries it has been maintained that divorce in marriage is a simple act. I have never met anyone who went through a divorce who did not admit that it was the most self esteem shattering experience they had ever been through. And Iíve never met anyone who bragged about the fact that his or her marriage fell apart. Divorce is always viewed as a failure . Yet, Jesus indicated that there would be times when even the divorce of a married couple would be an acceptable course of action. An adulteress affair by one of the two mates gives ground for divorce. There are some persons that you should divorce from your circle of important relationships. Never invite a negative thinking person to the power center of your life. Never appoint a dyed-in-the-wool impossibility thinker to be a member of an important committee. Never create a platform for enemies to launch their proposals or projects. It takes a lot of faith to say goodbye.

Utilizing suspicion positively
"Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another."
ROMANS 14:19

Suspicion is one of the most unreliable forms of mental activity and one of the most difficult mental habits to uproot once it has established its malignant tentacles in the mind! Suspicion is a pregnant demon, giving birth to fear, jealousy, depression, and anger! You must check negative suspicion! It can ruin you! Suspect that others think negatively about you, and they will! If you think people donít love you, you will freeze up, withdraw, and actively sow the seeds of alienation. We can turn negatives into positives. Can we apply this to suspicion? Yes. Turn paranoia inside out! Reverse your suspicions! Hereís how: I suspect that somebody is going to give me a boost! I suspect that people I donít even know are defending me behind my back. I suspect that people will not condemn me for my faults. I suspect someone is going to support me. Yes, turn suspicion, an expression of human imagination, into of positive mental force. Believe that the best will happen, not the worst. Before you know it, you will expect a miracle-And youíll get one!

Reacting positively to a negative situation
"..If God is for us, who can be against us?"
ROMANS 8:31

What do you do when the bottom falls out? When the bubble breaks? When the market is saturated? When it looks as if your dreams are turning to ashes in your hands? Remember this. Keep on believing! Youíve not lost everything until you lost your faith! And thatís the choiceÖ Never an accident! You reserves the right to choose your reaction to whatever happens. You always have the choice to reattach to positively or negatively. Decide today to react positively. This is my opportunity to build the greatest treasure a person can possess a fantastic reputation! I shall choose to inspire people in my time of suffering. I shall achieve respect because of my courage in this enormous difficulty. Faith is reacting positively to the negative situation.

Burying old grudges
" Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."
MATTHEW 5:44

Faith is trusting that God will settle the accounts with those who have been unjust and unfair with you. No one travels the road of life without being affected by injustice at one time or another. But the worst thing that can happen to you is to develop victimitis. Victimitis is carrying your grudge and nursing the hurts. This only produces a whole new batch of emotional demons to torture your soul. Resentment, anger, self pity, and even vengeance become a mixed up a recipe for messed up feelings. You should recognize that on some occasions you will be treated unfairly. God can handle the injustice a lot better than you can. You have the faith that he will settle the score in a way that will be helpful and not hurtful to everyone concerned. So donít carry the grudge, bury it. You can be positive about one thing. God knows the ins and outs of the entire upsetting situation a lot better than you do. God knows how to pull weeds without killing the flowers! God knows how to turn an enemy into a friend! Today I shall drop all resentments, all injustices, into the deep to sea of godís power and mercy and love. I pray that he will settle the matter in the best way! Thank you, God , for taking over this problem before it does untold damage to my spirit. Amen.

Coping creatively
"In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
ROMANS 8:37

Letís take a look at two different lives: one walks the road of doubt and one walks the road of faith. Negative people cry, complain, moan and groan. They look at their losses instead of their victories. They look at whatís wrong instead of whatís right. This naturally leads to the state of low self-esteem, which in turn produces a whole new set of problems. As they tried to cope with lifeís hurts, they resort to chemicals, compulsive gambling, or immoral sex. By contrast, people of faith cope creatively through possibility thinking! This is what Saint Paul did when he confidently wrote the words of our text today. Positive thinking people cope creatively by seeing the possibilities, even in the dark times. Instead of becoming pessimistic they start counting their blessings. They see stumbling blocks as stepping stones; obstacles as opportunities. They turn their negative temptations into positive passions. Possibility thinkers focus all their efforts toward turning the wild impulses into sanctified service. What hurt do you need to conquer today? ď we are more than conquers! ď What problem do you need to solve? ď we are more than conquerors! ď What obstacle to do you need to move? ď we are more than conquerors! ď Faith is coping creatively!

Smiling- anyway
" How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,..who proclaims salvation."
ISAIAH 52:7

When Iím not smiling, I cease to be as helpful as I ought to be. I was once told that when you get in front of an audience give them a lift, donít give them a load. Help them with their problems, donít dump yours on top of them! Give them a breath of fresh air. Give them good news, or youíre not preaching the gospel! The talent to smile is given to every living human being. Exercise it. Get all the mileage you can of it! The amazing thing is that if you keep on smiling, you really will feel happy in a little while anyway! Even as the mind affects the body, the opposite is true. If you physically act out that exercise of positive emotion, you can, in fact, awaken those feelings that are in you now. Positive feelings are waiting to be awakened within you. You simply need to exercise them through positive talk and constant smiling . One dear old soul was credited for bringing many people into the church. Her secret? She simply stood at the entrance of her church every week, ď smiling them in and smiling them out! ď

Absorbing jolts naturally
"What woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she finds it?"
LUKE 15:8

The ď absorbing ď is an important quality of life . People who walk by faith to develop the art of absorbing. There are times when we need to be like a sponge-absorbing disappointments, rejections , setbacks. The woman Jesus talks about in todayís Bible verse succeeded because she stayed with it. The ability to absorb the initial disappointment gave her comeback ability. Nine times out of ten: success comes to the person who refuses to give up. I remember that time my wife lost her diamond from her engagement ring. One afternoon she looked at her ring and saw an empty setting. The stone was gone! Said she had not been out doors all day, she searched the house high and low, to no avail. I suggested we might have had better luck looking for the diamond in the black of night. With all the lights off, we aimed the flashlight at every corner of the house. Suddenly, we saw a flash of color! I reached down and there it was. The light in the darkness had done the trick. I took it to the jeweler the next day, but he took one look at it and said, ď this isnít a diamond; itís only a rhinestone! ď glass! I was horrified. I said, ď but I bought it from a respectable jeweler. ď he smiled, ď this stone did not come out of this ring. Itís almost the same size, but not quite. ď we never did find the diamond . My wife learned to take the jolt, absorb it, and go on. Faith is absorbing the jolts.
