God Bless and be inspired!

Please give me a shout via my handy contact form if you found this page inspiring. I went through a lot of work and am proud of how this page came together. It is always nice to see when someone gives you a "atta boy" for your efforts.

This page will inspire you with practical scripture from the Lord and a explanation. I include one verse for every day of the year. Thanks to Robert H. Schuller and a book called "Tough Minded Faith for Tender Hearted People".

Yielding yourself to God
“Do not let sin reign in your mortal body, but present yourselves to God.”
ROMANS 6:12-13

Faith is crowning Christ as King of your life. It is accepting His imperial command over your thinking. It is acknowledging the lordship of Christ over your life. It is yielding the leadership of your life to the winds of the Holy Spirit—the way tender trees yield to the breeze. Faith is crowning Christ as King of your life. It is accepting His imperial command over your thinking. It is acknowledging the lordship of Christ over your life. It is yielding the leadership of your life to the winds of the Holy Spirit—the way tender trees yield to the breeze. Faith is crowning Christ as King of your life. It is accepting His imperial command over your thinking. It is acknowledging the lordship of Christ over your life. It is yielding the leadership of your life to the winds of the Holy Spirit—the way tender trees yield to the breeze. It takes a lot of faith to surrender leadership to someone you have never touched, never talked to—except in prayer. Landscape architects recognize that there are two basic types of planting—dramatic and tranquilizing. Cactus plants are categorized as dramatic plantings. They stab the air; they rigidly resist the wind. They confront, from an "attack" position, nature around them. Yielding is surrendering. Surrendering is the ultimate act of faith. As the tips of the trees bend to the wind, so will you and I respond to the winds of the Spirit of God. Faith is yielding yourself to God—to the higher Power, to the loving Presence of our precious Friend, to our loving Lord, to our gracious God.

Overcoming your fears
“God has given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
2 TIMOTHY 1:7

When you and I have yielded ourselves to God, and He has wiped the slate clean, does this mean we will never face fear again? Of course not, but God's promise to the believer is that we can overcome all fear through the power of His love and faith. Where does fear come from? Not from God! But from the source of all universal negativity—the devil. Philosophically we refer to this source as evil. Neurotic fear that destroys your creative and constructive planning and productivity does not come from God! "God has not given us a spirit of fear" (2 Tim. 1:7); rather God empowers you with a healthy mind. Under the leadership and lordship of Jesus Christ, command that negative thought, that destructive emotion, to get out of your life! Thank You, Father, for being so good to me. Thank You for coming into my life to remove all my fear. Thank You for filling me with this kind of faith.

Quieting the storm
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace be still, And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”
MARK 4:39

Our Lord had gone to sleep in the boat. Suddenly a storm arose. The disciples were panic-stricken.They awoke the Lord. Christ stood, calmly faced the winds, extended His arms to the troubled sea, and with authority commanded the winds and the waves to subside. "Peace, be still." Faith assures you that unexpected storms will subside if you take control over them! "Peace, be still." Peace of mind—deep, abiding, powerful, and pervasive—is yours when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

Bonding the friendship
“ I have loved you with an everlasting love, Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.”
JEREMIAH 31:3

When my grandson, Christopher, was only ten months old I traveled so much I had little time to become acquainted with him. One day, to my surprise, I reached out my arms to him and he stretched his arms to me. He invited me to pick him up. He sat on my lap, turned, and looked to me with a most trusting look. Then came a beautiful moment when he peacefully rested his left cheek against my right shoulder as if he was sleeping in his own bed. Suddenly he lifted his head, and looked up to see who was holding him. His big wide eyes searched my face, with an "I know-who-you-are" look. He realized who I was! His mother interpreted and explained his look: "Dad, you know I edit and review the 'Hour of Power' television program before it is aired across the country. Christopher often sits beside me as I work. He knows yours is the face he has seen on television every day for most of his life." The child recognized me as someone familiar. In that moment a bonding was formed between a grandfather and grandson. It was wonderful. Faith brings you to a moment when suddenly you realize you are on solid and safe ground with a Friend! Faith is bonding a friendship with Jesus Christ! Let this be the day when you rest your eternal soul on His heart. He will encircle you with His love and embrace you to give you eternal spiritual security. That's faith! That will make a difference—always and forever!

Ruling out disqualification
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow Me, And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
JOHN 10:27-28

When we walk the walk of faith we rule out the possibility of ever being declared disqualified in the spiritual race of successful living. My daughter Carol is determined to become an award-winning skier in national competition even though she has had her left leg amputated. It is nothing short of divine inspiration to see how she disciplines her body to qualify for the competitions sponsored each year by the National Handicapped Sports and Recreation Association. It took Carol two years to meet the rigid standards to qualify. I will never forget watching her participate at the Twelfth Annual National Ski Championships in Squaw Valley, California. We watched her win a gold medal in the downhill race and a silver in the giant slalom. Then the slalom race was announced. We were waiting for her to come down the hill when the announcement was made: "We have a DNF 'Did not finish') at the top of the hill: Carol Schuller." She did not qualify! There is enormous disappointment when you are disqualified. When we are saved by faith, Christ redeems us. He doesn't put a short-term lease on our spiritual welfare! Christ saves us—forever! He holds us and never lets us go! We may be tempted to let go of Him, but He will not let us ever be disqualified from the family of God!

Trading off anxiety for peace
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
JOHN 14:27

Dear God, today I commit my life and soul to Jesus Christ. Forever and forever! Amen.

Displaying the flag
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.”
ROMANS 1:16

Can we begin to what it meant for those first twelve apostles to publicly declare their love and loyalty for that young, unknown religious leader called Jesus of Nazareth? When Christ was betrayed, and marched off to a public execution, the apostles were nowhere to be found. It was not until after our Lord was raised from the dead that this itinerant band of apostles became inflamed with an all consuming faith in the divine Person and mission of out Lord. Can you find any person who offers more than Jesus does? To the lonely, He is a Friend; to the sinful, a Savior; to the dying, the promised Guide across the troubles water; to the enslaved, the Power to be free again. Offer your life to Jesus Christ today ! Volunteer your services to the campaign headquarters. Dare to be known as one of His friends. Display the flag of belief.
